[lisbeth is sitting in the little hovel of a shop, looking over the conversation she'd just had with nill. what could she possibly speak with her about? if it was about that little slip-up of her feelings when they reunited, lisbeth could explain it away as a getting caught up in the moment.
now that she was with jesse again, she had the wild notion of becoming a little more serious with him.]
[As promised, it doesn't take Nill long at all to arrive there. She slips inside from the cold and the rain easily, dressed prettily, although she usually dresses nicely when she can.
Not that it matters, though. She makes her way over to Lisbeth and sits across from her.]
[Nill sets her hands in front of her on the table, and glances around the cafe. It isn't overly crowded, which is good, but it isn't empty, which is also good. Hopefully no one will notice that Lisbeth probably looks like she's having a very one sided conversation.]
He didn't tell you what I was talking about last time.
[Her one brow moves downward in a questioning manner. Had there been something else? Whatever it was, it had to have happened in Exsilium because everything was sunshine and rainbows - for the most part - in Siren's.]
[For a moment, Nill doesn't try to communicate anything. As angry as she is with Jesse, as awful as this situation, it's still hard to tell Lisbeth, because she knows it will devastate her.
The moment passes though, and Nill looks up, meeting Lisbeth's gaze.]
With the help of the Initiative, he intends to erase the fact that he ever existed.
[She's not sure how to feel. Nill's words fall on her ears and she tries to digest it. The words are so foreign to her, still. The Initiative, the fact that they could travel back in time.]
[Lisbeth straightens in her seat slowly. A dead Jesse in his world means no pull to Siren's Port. No pull means nothing that had happened would happen.
No club, no house, no 'I love yous". Who knows how Lisbeth would be without Jesse in Siren's Port. How would she be right now?
Every breath through her nose becomes louder and louder with each exhale. Her heart feels like someone is squeezing it from the inside, wanting it to burst.
[She can feel Lisbeth's hurt coming off her in waves, and it's enough to make Nill's heart ache. She pulls her hands off the table so that she can clench them into fists on her lap.]
I tried telling him good things that he'd done. I tried to get him to understand why it was a terrible thing to do.
[Her heartbrokenness is so strong that she feels she might be sick. She puffs out her cheeks and lets air escape finally to stop herself from throwing up. Lisbeth's looking at the table now, trying to hold herself together.]
[For once, Nill actually looks surprised. Her expression knits into one of concern as she looks up at Lisbeth, and she lifts her hands from her lap, reaching across the table towards her.]
[Lisbeth moves her hands away, which she'd placed at the edge of the table, tucking them into her body. She shakes her head, not looking at Nill. Should she be angry with her? Yes, she should be. In a matter of seconds, she was tearing her world down. Lisbeth thought everything would be normal as normal could be here in this reality. But no, she shouldn't be angry. Friends don't keep secrets. Jesse doesn't really love her, not as much as he says he does.
The thoughts are so overwhelming for Lisbeth that she expresses some kind of pain on her face and brings her arms closer to her. She doesn't know what to think.]
[Nill hovers there for a moment, hands extended, before sitting back in her seat again, and pulling her arms back to herself. Lisbeth is angry, and she has every right to be. Nill doesn't blame her.]
I thought you deserved to know. Jesse refused to tell you.
[Jesse left it up to Nill to tear apart Lisbeth's life, even though it was his decision to do it in the first place. She refused to apologize, though. She wouldn't apologize for telling Lisbeth that something terrible was going to happen to her world. She deserved to have a say in the matter, even if Jesse didn't listen to her.]
[What should she say to that? Thank you? Thank you for letting me know that a person I've invested my emotions in can't return them enough to stop killing themselves.]
I never thought I'd miss a world where I was hated for powers I didn't ask for simply because it's the last time I was fucking happy.
[So if Nill wasn't going to leave, then she was. Lisbeth stands from the table and makes her way to the door.]
[Nill doesn't try to say anything in her own defense; nor does she try to stop Lisbeth, or to follow after her. She lets her go without another word, because that seems like the kindest possible thing she can do for Lisbeth after this awful thing that she's done to her.
After Lisbeth is out the door, Nill's shoulders slump, and she brings her hands up to cover her face, exhaling slowly and shakily. She wants to go home. She wants to make sure Yosuke isn't doing something stupid, or that Dave is still around, or talk with Gilbert. She wants to go back to cleaning and making sure Lisbeth and Jesse eat decent meals. For the first time in years when Nill longs for a place it isn't a cramped apartment in a dying city, and the thought alone is enough to make her want to cry.
She doesn't, though. Nill waits for a few minutes before forcing herself to stand, and leaving the small cafe as well.]
Switching to action spam cool with you?
I'll see you soon.

Nothing would sway him?

[There's something unspoken there, something that even Nill - in all her anger towards Jesse right now - can't bring herself to say outright.
Not even arguing for Lisbeth's well-being had swayed him.]

I think you should go.
